How does coaching work?
Coaching is a customizable service. There are a few practices that will be followed but mostly it comes down to you. What do you want to work on? Where do you want more success? Where do you want more joy? What do you want to achieve? How do you want to feel? During each of our sessions we will focus on finding the answers that make the most sense to you and something you can put into place and stick to. Once you connect your “Why” to something, you can stick to anything! We will have 60 to 90 minute discussions around your most sought after improvements. During that time, you will learn how your old way of thinking was hindering your growth/success, to develop new patterns of thinking and how to act on those thoughts and how to catch yourself when the old ones creep up. You’ll understand what led you down those self limiting thoughts. And you could very well discover the best way to live your life, according to you. We will work together for a total of 18 sessions. If you feel there is more work to be done at the end of that, we can continue. We are always interested in working with those who desire “more.”

What do we talk about?
Whatever you would like! You lead this. However, as a coach, We can’t let you turn it into a bitch session. We are all about understanding your frustrations and challenges and we want to! That’s how we are most effective. So during a coaching session, we expect you are there to make progress against those. In progress does not mean big, giant steps. That day, the progress may just be showing up and being willing to want to get better. It could be a small “aha” moment or big “aha” moment. It could be a breakthrough around one of your biggest challenges. We hope for all of it! We will be your biggest cheerleader! We can talk about better relationships, a healthier body, success in your career, identifying limiting beliefs, and so on. And you’ll see we will be excited and happy for you, as well as proud of you for putting in the work and reaping the rewards!

Why do I need a coach?
In our humble opinion, everyone needs a coach. Some of the greatest minds of our time and those before us had coaches. Most notable today maybe Tony Robbins, the coach’s coach. Even though he’s like the godfather of coaching, Tony still works with others that know more than he does and have a different perspective in certain fields. Tom Brady, future Hall of Fame quarterback and multiple Super Bowl winner, has a coach. And often, that’s what coaching is. Working through a situation with someone who has different experiences and different perspectives on the same challenge you may be facing. A coach is someone who wants to help, dedicates time and focus solely on you and who also HAS a coach (be wary of a coach that doesn’t have a coach). It is a person who helps you understand what you’re thinking and challenges you to think about your own thoughts. The coach also takes an objective stance and doesn’t become a “yes” person. They want to see you succeed and offer “tough love.” Tell me we couldn’t all use that!

How much time does it take?
There are a couple ways to answer this so we’ll go through each one:
On the day-to-day level, it would be a 60 to 90 minute session. For the first three months we would meet once a week. For the remaining three months, we would meet once every two weeks for a total of 18 sessions in three months. If you’re asking how long does it take to feel the effects of a coaching session, that could be immediately! You are in a nonjudgmental zone with someone who is willing to help you get what you want in life. You will also be talking to someone who wants to get to know and understand you. The reason for 18 coaching sessions is the desire to see you develop successful habits. We want you to get the most out of it and long-term results usually begin to happen after three months but we stick with another three months to really solidify the new level you are living on. It’s also dependent on how willing a client is to do the work. If you come in motivated to get what you want in life and are willing to work for it, you could see changes relatively quickly. But if you come in expecting a coach to “fix you“, it may be a much longer process.

“I don’t have the time”
If you have time to re-watch a rerun of Friends three times, you have time to work with a coach. We understand that life gets in the way very consistently! We know you have other obligations and other things you care about. The time spent on improving your mindset, body, career, etc. goes to improve those other aspects of your life that you don’t want to miss out on. Those other obligations and things you care about are the exact reason to progress your life by working with a coach. If we were to keep to an hour long session over 18 sessions, that would be 18 hours you devote to potentially dramatically improving your life. You are worth it and so are the things you care about. We also make it very easy to work with us. We prefer in person, however, we understand that’s not always an option. So phone calls and or Skype works just fine for us. The ball is always in your court.

“I’ll just talk to a friend/family member”
You can definitely do that! Being able to talk to friends and family is an absolute blessing, especially when times get tough. But friends and family typically love you just the way you are. They’ll tell you things like “you don’t need to change” or “you’re perfect just the way you are.” Those are both great statements in theory… But what if YOU want more. Friends and family are great for wanting to be supportive but often don’t know how to be. They want to give you encouragement around what you’ve already done, but what if you want to do more. How do they feel then? It’s your life and you’re with you 24 hours a day. And let’s not forget, our friends and family may be afraid of our change. Maybe that will make them uncomfortable. Maybe that will disrupt their world. We don’t believe that all family and friends carry this thought but some do. So many people like to remain in their bubble. And that’s fine for them but not for you. Working with an objective third-party, like a coach, allows you to be yourself without fear of judgment and someone who wants what you want. A coach can be unemotionally tied to your thoughts and desires. A coach can objectively look at what you’re doing or what you’re thinking that you aren’t happy with and offer a different perspective that might work for YOU.

“Will you guarantee that coaching will work for me?”
The short answer to that is no. Any coach that guarantees coaching will work is not being truthful. But directly on the heels of that, any coach that guarantees coaching will work if YOU work IS being truthful. Coming into a coaching relationship takes commitment from both you and your coach. If you’re paying for your coach, and you should be (as a culture, we only value what we pay for typically), they are obliged to give you all their effort. However, if you go into a coaching relationship and are not committed and don’t do the work, you can expect to see zero changes and/or improvements to your life. You cannot expect a coach to “fix” you if you are not willing to be fixed. That’s not their role anyway. They are there to help bring out the very best you have to offer yourself and the world.

“Does it have to be in person?”
No. Though we believe there is an inherent energy happening in a room where someone is making progress with their coach and having a-ha moments, we understand that doesn’t work for all of our clients. So we are available for phone and video calls (Skype/Zoom). If possible, we like to meet for the first time in person, but again, we understand that doesn’t always work or is convenient. We’ll work with you in what’s best for you!

“I don’t have the money right now.”
No problem! We understand that paying for six months of coaching is a time and financial commitment. Not everybody is ready for either when they first identify coaching as a means of massive self-improvement. So know that it will always be available to you. But also ask yourself where you could be in a year from now if you started with some coaching today. And would the money matter as much then? As coaches ourselves, we pay more for coaching then we are comfortable with but that also brings out the best in us to get the most from it. We value our futures and want more from life and for ourselves and our families. We offer a free two hour Progression Session to give you a taste of what the coaching sessions would be like for six months with absolutely no obligation to buy.  This gives you a real life picture of how you can feel and the things that are available to you when you’re firing on all cylinders! We would love to talk to you!

“How can I pay?”
Now that you’ve taken a massive, positive step forward and made the commitment to yourself, your family and your future, we make it easy to pay! There are a number of methods that you can use. We can accept cash, check or credit card as payment in full before we begin or we can work out a customized payment plan that works for us both.
